      Greetings,

      Is there a method to clear or delete folders from Favorites in the Components window, other than using the "Remove from Favorites" command in the "Details" pane?

      I moved some component file folders to a different location, so the Favorites shortcuts to them in the Components window no longer work. I can't figure out how to get rid of those shortcuts.

      Thank you!

        There are 2 ways I know.

        1 - Recreate the original favorites locations on disk, and then remove them from SketchUp. The folders only need to exists but not actually contain your components - they can be empty folders. Then you can remove them from SketchUp.

        2 - Open regedit.exe and remove them from:

        HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\SketchUp\SketchUp 2016\UserLibrariesComponentBrowser1

        If you want to clear all favorites, set the count key to 0 (zero) (see image) Be sure to close SketchUp first.

              Windows Start menu > Start
              Enter regedit and press <enter>
              Navigate in the Regedit dialog to find what you want...
              Obviously the SketchUp version will vary...
              And if it's >=v2018 the settings are no longer in the Registry - but in a .json References file in the user's AppData path...

                Help
                I am having the same problem, I cant remove the collection using the 'remove from favorites' due to it being grayed out. I foolishly deleted the folder in my browser... 🤣
                I cant find the correct code TIG was talking about. I opened the regedit but could not find the json ref or the app data path.
                I am using SU 2020 on a windows 10 PC and am a very new user and not at all computer savvy.
                Can some one please supply step by step instructions for a complete novice. I feel a bit nervous poking around a part of my computer I know nothing about.
                Many thanks
                Mike

                  If you reread what was previously written the regedit fix only apples to older SketchUp versions...

                  If you are somewhat 'green' then perhaps this fix is not for you ?
                  Open the file:
                  C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\SketchUp\SketchUp 2020\SketchUp\SharedPreferences.json
                  with a plain text-editor like Notepad++...

                  Find its section[s] e.g.:
                  "UserLibrariesComponentBrowser1": {
                  delete the entries you don't want.
                  ensure the 'counter' is reset to suit.
                  ensure the last entry before the closing } has no final ,

                  Alternatively, why not remake the previously deleted folder [empty] that's causing this issue.
                  Then you should be able to remove it from your Favorites... then delete the unwanted folder...

                    Yahoo.
                    All sorted thanks.
                    I deleted it through the Json file.
                    Thanks so much for your help.
