      We've something in common!

Two Thumbs!! my cats are working on that.

With the advances in technology today i'm seeing neural linked robotic prosthetic opposable thumbs, once they have that the furry little bastards will control the world.

As an update, there have been some issues with the 'client', pubic art is always problematic and keeping everyone happy is basically impossible.
However, two weeks after we reinstalled the second sculpture they have deigned to go and look at them. As a result of their 'viewing' I received an SMS telling me that they have been approved. I really wonder what these people think.

Sorry, no photos as such because they are still covered until they decide to unveil them, at a date to be decided.

            To quote John Cleese:

'Yes, well of course that's just the sort of blinkered, philistine, pig-ignorance I've come to expect from you non-creative garbage. You sit there on your loathsome spotty behinds squeezing blackheads, not caring a tinker's cuss about the struggling artist! You excrement! '

It was probly just an OH&S sign off tho.

Heading Ballarat way in a couple of weeks, so tis hopefully unveiled, otherwise might have to do a bit of undercover viewing.πŸ˜„

I'll give you the secret code Baz, to the gaffer tape holding down the fancy plastic tarp. And the magic spanner that will allow you to take the finger tight scaffold clamp off the corner so you don't have to jump the fence.

Excellent, I will wear my hard hat and an old 'Access all areas' pass from a Moomba parade from 10 years ago.

BTW, did you know that Moomba means 'Up your bum' in Aboriginal. Not 'let's get together and have fun' as promoted by the organizers.

It's been a long involved story but the sculptures have finally come out to see the light of day. They have moved to a beautiful home in a sculpture park not far from Ballarat. Here's a quick couple of snaps.
Hopefully I'll have better later. They are incredibly hard to photograph.

A great setting, they look fantastic but I get your point about taking pictures. A better base would suit the sculptures better imho.

There is a stainless steel pelmet that covers all the structural steel, it needed adjustment for the new location and will be fitted soon.

Here's a slightly better shot showing some of the detail. The figure lights up differently depending on the angle of the sun. This was early morning so the sun is quite low from the right.

And here is some direct, obvious and essential sketchup usage, the lifting rig I designed fully in sketchup. It allows us to clamp 3.5 tons of glass on two edges in a friction grip, lift it from horizontal, rotate it to vertical with one finger and set it down on it's base with nothing under it.

Great update Box. πŸ‘ Curious as to why they got relocated πŸ˜• . The lifting rig is a pretty sharp piece of design on your part also πŸ‘ .

Not enough words to express how cool this is.
