3D Base Camp 2016

Well, for those of you who missed #D Basecamp, it was a great time. Biggest one ever with some amazing presentations and some really cool demos. Bootcamp was also excellent.
As Rich said, video was shot at Basecamp. Well, most sessions were recorded. They expect the videos to be released in about a week after they get them edited and uploaded.
Pretty cool swag this time including a SpaceMouse Wireless and the "Stick of Knowledge"
Andrew, I missed you again.

Looking forward to see those videos.
I don't know how many that know about the basecamp app but it was really nice to see some images from the event and get a feel of what I was missing... -

The Basecamp app was designed for attendees to get session schedules and locations as well as up-to-the-minute updates on what was going on.

Yes I know, Dave. Was so looking forward to this year but its been such a busy time [and renovating our home] I just couldn't make it..... Sounds like a fab time was had; I'm sure we'll see pics filtering through in the coming day to tease us all a little more!!

It was the best basecamp yet. Nearly 700 in attendance. Between Bootcamp and Basecamp, I'm exhausted. It was really great to see so many people, all focused on one thing......drinking, no I mean Sketchup.

All joking aside, it really was an incredible event. The Sketchup team successfully created a fast paced experience that was really exciting. The venue was beautiful, accommodations were comfortable, and the comradery remarkable. I learned so much about plug-ins, VR, BIM, and the different uses of SU, that it feels like information overload. Thankfully I'm taking a few days to relax and recover. Don't miss the next one:

Oh, one more thing.........the D'Oh book is awesome! It was a huge hit at Basecamp. Great work to all that contributed and to Rich and crew for putting it together.

It was a blast, had a great time, met some awesome people. Happy there was a fire pit as that is where contacts were made and friendships formed. Definitely rate this one as the best, and even learned a lot in Boot Camp, thanks to Nick Sonder and Daniel Tal.

@Solo
Great to hear but I thought you said you weren't going? -

Thoroughly enjoyed both attending and humbled that I was able to present on the same roster as so many rock stars here (ahem, Mr. Sonder...).
Brought the whole family. That was a treat as school just let out. The girls played while dad learned and worked. That means I kept the long nights at the fire or up the hill at the Thunderhead to reasonable hours... It also meant my intake of fine beverages was reasonable. We spent a few extra days in CO - over the Trail Ridge Road into Boulder and then a little hang out time.
Highly recommended. The vibe reminds me of past Timber Framers Guild conferences. Lots of incredible people doing all sorts of great work, and all willing to share or just hang out together.
Life continues to be good.

And Dave and Nick - a pleasure meeting you (and others I'm sure that are in here that I can't remember a name for...)
-
It was indeed a pleasure to meet you, too, Mike. I wish there'd been more time to chat.

Mixed blessing having the family along. The wife was all in on me doing my thing (she had been out of town for work for 10 days prior to us leaving for CO for her own work and conference (37,000 attendees!)) - but I liked hanging out with my SKP peeps and my family. Sort of torn!
Next time around, for sure.
-
Understood. And I hope so, too.

Hey guys, sure was fun putting faces to names!
And Pete, I looked high and low for you all conference so I could throw a couple cocktails down your throat; sorry that our paths never crossed...
An excellent event, for sure, and was quite happy that I went.
