You insensitive person!
You work with renders, at least you got to love that subtle caustics effect...

I like those expressions about Design and Art. Seems true to me.
One can make Art. This is called Art.
One can use Art (from the catalogue or his own) to make things usable in everyday life. This is called the skill of Designing things.

Art = Talent
Design = SkillYou have encapsulated the Art/Craft debate right there Rich.
But what is a skilled artist and a talented designer to make of that?

A skilled artist will make design and a talented designer will make art...

Well there ya go. I think you have it.

Yes I think I did!
Now a question for you: what if a skilled carpenter would put all his talent into designing a stool?

Too broad a question... is he just skilled?
If so, he would make a beautiful stool following the classic rules of 'form follows function'.
But. As a skilled 'person' he would be aware of all the myriad ways of achieving ass sitting.
He would also be dealing with client expectations, and we know how that can go.
He would be dealing with available material.
He would wondering how he could get it onto 'ETSY'Design challenge anyone. A stool that is both art and design in equal portions?

A stool is design?
A stool is art? -
I'm in the challenge, I've got some ideas already, but I'm a very unskilled and untalented carpenter.
