In the demo below, is there a way to make a smoother transition from one view to another when you change SU scenes?

Change SU scenes - click to view

I tried some different settings and when you transition from one Animator View to another you get a pretty good transition. However, when the view is changing from one SU scene to another, the transition is immediate.

In the animation above, watch the transition when I switch to the scene that includes the water. It is the object in the "spray" layer that has been hidden show up immediately.

Maybe another question to ask might be is there a way to show/hide layers without having to have them in different scenes (which obviously is the default behavior for SU)?

        Dave,

There is no such thing as progressive layer transition in Sketchup (like a dissolve or ghost-appear). Simulating that may be considered with Sections or Transparency, which I will study anyway.

Transparency is probably a good avenue, but the limitation is that you need to save the original materials and replace them with new ones which you play with the alpha channel. Doable however.
Sections would be more for solid objects.

          Thanks Fredo.......

Would it be possible to have a sequence that allowed you to show/hide a layer?

In my example, the only thing that is different between the 2 scenes is that the "spray" layer shows in one scene but not the other. Could be an interesting tool to be able to toggle layers like in the SU scene. But, I can certainly work with it the way it is.
