Circle to Oval
-
Hello,
I'm new to this forum.
I've used Sketchup for a while, but don't generally work too much with round shapes.
Question:
I'm trying to draw a cylinder that is round on one end and oval on the other (something like a nozzle that fits on the end of a vacuum).
Could someone point me to a relevant example or tutorial?
I'm just having a hard time figuring how to do this one.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Make the circle and extrude it into a cylinder using PushPull.
Select the top face.
Use the Scale tool.
Hold Ctrl-key to Scale about the center.
Move one of the green side handles as desired, deforming the top into an 'oval'.The top should now be an 'oval' and it should morph down to the circular face at the base...

That was too easy! Apparently, the piece I was missing was using the Scale tool to deform the one end. Thank you very much.

If you want to have different contours on your way from contour A to contour B, Fredo's CurfiLoft is a great option...

or a funny one very rich in functions!
