Rayner...in the style of
-
Louise Rayner, my favourite painter .
This is one of my "cheap impersonations" of the brilliant style of Louise Rayner. I'm full of admiration of how she could convey perspective almost to perfection! I wish she was still here to teach me how to paint figures to populate it

Well, now you're just showing off!
But that's okay, 'cause we like it when great artists show off! -

I think I've read elsewhere about a last image for some time, if this is your new "long time" frequency it is very welcome!

Thank you both.
Carston, you're correct but a slight change of plan gave me a little more time.John

Truly amazing!

Gotta love fachwerk housing (on the left). You're making an art of it.
-
Remember John, you promised to write a book (a series of books, actually), make about 100 detailed how-to videos, and make your entire texture library available to me for download.
Ok, maybe it wasn't an actual promise, more of a wish list on my part. But I'm still holding you to it.

Gorgeous as always.

Sorry for the delay in replying, thank you for the kind comments everyone. Steve I can't teach you anything that's for sure but I'm only a PM away for anything else.
So this is no.2 of eleven I've completed up to now, posted a whole lot sooner than expected thanks to my temper

Show us the geometry daddy!

Hello Kriss, hope you can see the detail ok. Seven years of posting here and still having to downsize my images to 20% of original !

That's one of the most interesting things about your work... It looks like it would be intense geometry, but it's the incredible texture work that sells such simple geometry. Bravo...

I believe the last thing to add to your projects is life. Maybe this is the way you want it, but, for example, those chariots yield for some pairs of horses.
Otherwise lovely ! -
Thanks Kriss.
Thanks Elisie, your correct but where would I find the the appropriate models and costumes to populate this model. Adding realism and life to a model is difficult with certain subjects and I've yet to see a car model splattered in seagull shite for added effect....John

You are right, indeed is hard or impossible to find what you need for these projects.
-
-
I can only second the comment above. A pleasure as always, to see your work.
-
A perfect 10.
It's hard to work on my projects when I see what you have achieved.
-
Thank you for your kind comments they are appreciated. These are a pleasure to make as they are "in the style" of...I can happily cheat a little

Well you know he has written some books, in the Sketchucation store.
These are beautiful John! Like the second especially. (need some 3d horses now). Sort of a new direction in your work I think.
