A different course of stone is not at all unusual in traditional housing. Walling materials will vary as it is usually sourced locally but not always from the same quarry. The house may have been a single story cottage originally and later extended upwards. Or indeed the house may have bee build on the site of a demolished smaller house where the bigger stone was used for the ground floor and the upper floor stone sourced elsewhere! Walls ofter get thinner as the house goes up as the upper walls have to carry less of a load so the stone may be smaller! Truly a great rendering as good as ant I've seen. Well done!

Lovely piece of work as usual! πŸ‘
The only tiny flaw I see in it is created by the excellent quality of the stone texture itself. The image you have used is so well constructed and beautifully layered that it's very uniqueness makes it stand out.
This very distinct course of stones draws my eye and unfortunately for me flags the tiling.

Maybe it's because I live in a house built this way and I have spent months resetting the stones and know them all as individuals that I'm a bit too anal. πŸ’š

Sorry box, but in that particular crop I see no tiling... I see a lot of similar stones but none of them is the same...

There is some texture repetition in the image wich is showing up and it is a good advice to disguise textures that are more notoriously standing out. But you're still being a bastard in a box! πŸ˜„

I'm afraid you have more details about the building than most construction drawings. Very observant and an intriguing result. Thanks for sharing!

It is a brilliant model/render [as always].

It's somewhat disingenuous to pick out any very minor texture pattern repetitions !
There are only a handful... and a little simple smudging/dodging etc in post-pro would stop even those being noticeable to the overly inquiring eye πŸ˜’

                        Well done !

Well I liked the kind way Box referred to those repetitions. It was a very shy way of saying that he had found out a flaw in this awesome work. I hope you felt I was picking on you on a light way Box, I was playing but I might have taken it too far...

I fail to see how constructive criticism of a beautiful piece of work and the use of it as a learning experience for many could be construed as disingenuous.
It's a great example of how the very uniqueness of the texture can be a disadvantage.
For example, you find a fantastic wood grain or a lovely blank bit of concrete with a rust stain, if you use them too close together or too often they form a recognisable pattern. A more bland grain or clean concrete slab mightn't cause the same problem.
I'll go away now and roll my eyes quietly in private.

As I said before, an excellent rendering!

                                Excellent job, John.

Even after it's been pointed out, the repetitive use of the same texture still doesn't jump out at me. By changing its scale and using it on different planes, I think he did a great job of doing a lot with the same texture.

                                My avatar is an anachronism.

While I too noticed some repetition in the stone textures, I didn't feel the need to say anything about it because I don't feel they detract in any way at all from John's consistently amazing work (which nobody here can come close to touching).
And I noticed them only because I was specifically looking for them, and the only reason I was looking for them is because John's creations are so perfect I always feel the need to try and find something a little less than perfect. Just to make myself feel a little better about my inadequacies. Perhaps that is also why others scrutinize John's work so hard.
                                  I very rarely find anything.
Please keep the masterpieces coming, John!

Thank you everyone for your comments I'm humbled by them 😳

The model is too big to be covered in a single stone texture ~ 138m visible, but could easily have been fixed as TIG rightly pointed out with a little PP. To borrow a word he often uses but is very apt here.. it's "sloppy" PP.
@ rodman100 your correct recycling was here long before the plastic bottle, I often use several textures to covey this.

Whoever gave TIG's comment/opinion the thumbs down needs to take a look at themselves...childish.

Once again thanks for the comments
