      The vΓdeo is moving super fast so it seems everything is smooth, is it?

      Yes, it is smooth at realtime too.

      couldn't you have used the select loops on quad face tools for those line selections?

      No, my topology meant that loop select ended up going to the button pole.

      @jql said:

      Or maybe whaat's SketchUV path select tool?

      not installed

      @jql said:

      And wouldn't a component for the buttons work faster?

      i rarely use components when modeling. afterwards i'd revisit it but only if the file was intended for someone who needed it as light as possible.

        Nice 'blink and you'll miss it' SubD preview. The Vertex Tools workflow was however really useful πŸ‘

                I had it. I just stopped using it.

                When that happens I tend to remove extensions. Especially ones that no longer see development.

                  I do understand, but what else could he develop in his path select tool? It's perfect! Or are you talking about the UV part of SketchUV? Couldn't you use it with blender?

                    Path Select works fine but it is also now in Profile Builder 2(or a variant of it).

                    QuadFace Tools offers all the selection options i need at the moment. Also I use TGI3D and that has a very powerful set of selection options.

                    SketchUV often failed to successfully import UVs. It left many faces which strangely skewed tris for no reason other than it fails.

                    SketchUV is an awesome tool and a great asset to have. But for me I just think ThruPaint or exporting to Collada is a cleaner and reliable workflow. For now anyway.

                      You export for collada and then back at sketchup or you export to collada to get the work going at say... blender and stop SU from there?

                        I only come back to SketchUp if the final output I need to deliver is .skp.

                        I tend to use other tools to convert to skp.
