Sketchup 2015 orange north line
-
Hi there everyone,
I'm looking everywhere and cannot find the answer.
I am using sketchup pro 2015 on a mac, and cannot for the life of me figure out how to hide the big orange line represented North.
I don't need it, i want it off.
Please somebody help me!
Thank you -
Make sure the "Solar North" toolbar is visible and deactivate the visibility.

I don't see the Solar North toolbar anywhere

I thought as an advanced SU user you should be able to find a toolbar

Is it listed here: window -> preferences -> extensions?
-
Hmm yes you'd definitely think as an advanced SU user I would be able to, but here we are...
It is not in preferences-extensions either.
Looking online i see that Solar North is a plug-in, a plug-in that I never installed, and also is not appearing in my plug-ins manager. -
And if you install it, can you change the orange line? Is it in all your new model? If so, it might be saved with a template file? Did you try to use another template?
-
I vaguely recall at least two plugins that also add Solar North, I think Jim had one and possibly Skelion...
what plugins do you have?

At some point in the past when the SketchUp team was preparing one of the version, the decision was made to not include it in the SketchUp package because there are a large number of users who don't need it. At that point it became a plugin that you would have to install if you want it. It is freely available in the Extension Warehouse and can be auto-installed from there.

I had the same problem, drove me nuts!
