Axis inference shortcut
-
Well I stupidly assign arrow key to some action and now would like re-assign arrow key to axis inference.
But I can't find inference in short key panel.
Any idea?

What if you just remove the one you assigned it to?

Assigning the arrow keys to shortcuts is a bad idea - several plugins use them - to 'nudge' things etc...
The Preferences > Shortcuts has a 'Filter' - but it only displays shortcuts to available commands at that moment.
So for example, if you have assigned some key to 'Reverse Face', the command would only have been available for setting a shortcut, when a face was originally selected... so if you want to un-assign that shortcut you'll need to have the similar contents so you can see the shortcut in the dialog.
But, if you have assigned it to a now un-installed plugin, then it will never show up !If you try to reassign a shortcut that exists - even if it is no longer visible - then you should be prompted to tell you what it currently shortcuts to, OK to change it to the desired command...
To see ALL of your shortcuts... download and install the RBZ for the SketcUcation PluginStore toolset - then use its 'My Shortcuts...' submenu option... Its dialog shows the key-combos and each Command involved...
On a MAC you can manually edit the ShortCuts.plist - but you don't need to do that usually [although it is useful to copy a pslist from v2014 to v2015, as you need to swap the words 'Plugins' to be 'Extensions', if the equivalent Plugins are installed and you want to access them - Trimble's decision to rename the 'Plugins' menu to 'Extensions' was IMHO one of their poorer ideas...]

I got this / see image /, nothing clickable; is this SU8 compatible?

The finder did not find that file.
May I be a dummy?
Thank you TIG.
And happy new year.
Edit : forgot to upload this:
-
this should open it from any version of SU
%x(open -R "#{Sketchup.find_support_file("Shortcuts.plist")}")
paste into 'Ruby Console' and key 'Enter/Return'...
If you want it to open in the default editor remove "-R" before running...

I think that the arrow keys action to lock the inference engine is built-in, not handled by a shortcut, since it is neither a menu item nor a Tool. Therefore, I think Pixero is right - if you delete your own shortcut assignment, the inference locking behavior should return.

And if all else fails there is always the reset all button.

That simple, this works.
Thank you all.

A further note: if you change your shortcuts, SketchUp does not generally save the changes to the properties file until you close SketchUp (at least on Mac). As a result, the sketchUcation tool TIG mentions (which reads the file) won't see the changes until you close and restart SketchUp.
