      Hello,

After a while, i can see that i understand the basics of dynamic components, once you are able to work with it its 😍 . But i have a litle problem that i can't solve myself.
I made a sliding door with an onclick function. But when i click on it, de door moves not smooth but is "wavering". I think the model is to complex but it is only 800kB. The door consist of a lot of subcomponents. How could i solve this problem?

      Here the .gif file

If this model is too complex we must put all our computers on the garbage! 😄
And take this sort of thing! ☀

for me, it animates better than your .gif shows but still not completely smooth.. probably something to do with needing fast hardware to get the dc animations to run smoother.. ?

            This are my computer specs:

            MSI GT70 (2013)
            Intel Core i7-4700MQ
            RAM: 12GB DDR3
            NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770M

So, suppose think that hardware isn't the problem.
I'm working with the "old" sketchup 8 PRO version, maybe that's the problem??

hmm.. i really don't know and i don't have much experience with DC animations.
              sorry.

also, i don't have a copy of su8 installed on this computer so i can't try a comparison to su2015.

The component is way too complex. Recreate it with arcs of only say max. 12 segments and most likely the door will slide much smoother. If there's no particular reason, avoid using that many segments.

Yes, Sketchup 2015 is better than 8 for DC.
I tried on both SU8 and SU 2015 on my 6 years old laptop (Core 2 duo @ 2.66GHz, 4Go RAM, Win 7 64, nVidia 9600). With SU 8 the door move in 8 step and with SU 2015 it's smooth.

But how Wo3Dan said, your door is too complex : more than 10000 faces for one door, I can't imagine for all the house ! 😉

I concur, I have a passage door that opens and closes. It is panel raised and can have up to a dozen panels. If I use a Schlage handle drawn professionally it works fine. I found another door handle (needs 2 per door) which is round and has way too many facets. It's motion is rather jagged.
