How do I "weld" a uniform b-spline when weld doesn't work?

I'm drawing wavy lines that I need to edit once draw. They don't draw well in arc or bezier curve. I can get the exact shape I want with the uniform b-spline. Do I need to convert the line into something else once drawn? I need the line to be very smooth as I'm sending it to a cnc machine. I need to pull the parts apart in groups eventually. It would be nice not to have to sit and click on every little line segment in order to copy and move the part over.

hmm. not exactly clear on what you're trying to accomplish.

it sounds like you want more segments (smoother curve).
welding isn't going to change anything in those regards.

        sample .skp file?

reread.. ok, it seems you do know what welding means.. search the plugin stores for 'Weld' and you'll be presented with an option.

personally, i use fredo's Curvizard as it makes the selection process easy.. (ie- click one segment then the rest of them are selected for you and the polyline is welded as one.. in one step)

also, Curvizard has other features you may find helpful for increasing segment count and smoothing out curves

          An example would be useful.

Note that BezierSpline always creates the spline curve as welded (i.e. Sketchup curves).

It sounds to me as if you're drawing the B-spline across other lines. those lines would automatically split the B-spline and those lines would prevent weld from welding the spline back together. If you make groups or components of the other lines, you can prevent the B-spline from being split. If you need parts of the B-spline to be inside those groups/components, there are simple ways to do that but I'd want to see an example of model before going into it.
