Imported CAD files
-
Please forgive me if this question has already been asked, if so, kindly direct me to that discussion. I'm trying to find a way for SketchUp 2014 to display where a cad file was imported from on a company server / job folder. I looked in preferences, and model info but found nothing. Thanks in advance for any feed back on this matter.

If there haven't been any other imports made into either the current model or another SketchUp file, going to File>Import should turn up the the location. It usually remembers the last import location and starts there for the next import. Other than that, I don't believe there's any way to identify the source directory.

There is no built-in SketchUp way.
But can I suggest the Component Definition that is made by the Import process is given the original file location in its Description, immediately after it is added.
This is a management matter, but at least you then have the path in SUp.Alternatively on the CAD side, before importing you could add the file's path as a piece of Mtext in Model-Space [perhaps on a Layer named MY_PATH ?] and then Explode it, then it is imported as edges into SUp...
