[Plugin] SketchUcation Tools 2.6.1

Yes, and if your browser or our site settings are set to stored cached files then you will get those files until your browser settings are refreshed.
So what you are getting are cached images to improve page load times.
Even though the images have changed since your browser has not been told to update yet.
CTRL+F5 is a Hard refresh that forces the change in your browser.
-
I'll do the CTRL+F5, and report back the next time I notice the banner loaded.
The point I'm trying to make is that the (my user) browser was not around (since my machine was in some warehouse possibly, in storage, all nicely wrapped up) when the newer version was released, so it could not have loaded the erroneous file (-s) into cache.
-
my point is that the older 2.5 ad image you see was only changed last week
-
aaah, I was thinking that that could be one possibility.

Hi! I was facing some problems while installing sketchUcation tools. I followed the instructions in the video but I can't find any "install extension" button in the preferences tab. Please help. I am using Sketchup Pro 8.

That would indicate you never installed updates to SU8 when they were released and you're still running the first release. I think at this point you would need to upgrade at least to SU2014 Pro.Assuming you are running a legitimate copy of SU8 Pro, you might try contacting the SketchUp customer support folks.
You could rename the .rbz file you downloaded to .zip and then, being very careful to maintain the file structure, manually install the extension the old fashioned way.

I recently updated to Windows 10 Pro. I am running sketchup 2015 64 bit. Whenever I click the red butotn of this plugin I get a blank white screen. I tried 4-5 times, removed this extension, reinstalled it but still getting a blank white screen. What should I do? My drivers are up to date.

Try clearing the IE caches/temporary internet files.

Tried it. I cleaned using CCleaner. I am still getting that screen.

Works fine for me in Win10, so something is adrift your end...
Clear the cache from within Internet Explorer itself...
Also look at Control Panels > Internet Options
Ensure Javascript is enabled.
Ensure the security settings are not too severe...I'll also PM you a beta v2.6.2 to see it that helps...

humble question, not so humble answer...
how else can i answer it?
it's a huge update. it is already late to release. it will be released when it is ready.
we know when it does go out we will be busy answering the various issues this release brings.
so maybe that is the reasoning behind the sceptism to rollout globally.

Since they are anonymous I thought I'd mention the thumbs down two posts up was from me.

well done, you earn 5 browny-points, you can double that by keeping on flaming...
My following comment is a little ironic, but when genuine (straight forward) questions are being answered with a smug attitude, especially by persons that run the show here, then it's a sad day in my books...
instead of the short, smug version, the question could have been answered and elaborated on, much like was done in response to my comment, in the first instance

Gents,
There was no malice in my response meant.
I was giving the person a humble answer to his humble question.
It will be released when it is ready. I couldn't boil it down further than that.
No offence was meant. If you were offended I apologise.
We have about 50 peeps testing it on various platforms and versions and that has raised lots of little niggles.
Rather than firefight at a larger scale we are doing so behind closed doors.

I realise that the plugin gets its stats from the server, but is there any way to actually delete some of the bundles listed...at least at the UI level? When you've been doing a lot of compatibility testing (as some of us have lately) that list of bundles can get quite lengthy...and not a little confusing.
If there isn't any way of deleting listed bundles, can I put in a feature request for one? There must be some way for management to still monitor what's been downloaded without individual users having to carry that record in perpetuity.
It's got to the point now where I'm just using the plugin as a handy overview, but then downloading and installing the scripts via Preferences > Extensions....which kind of defeats the object. -
The ExtensionStore3 v3.0.0 is in beta.
One of the requested functions is the ability to 'manage' your Bundles...It will come...

Thanks TIG. I tried-out V3.0, but I've been sticking with 2.6.1 for now, as it still has the preview option.
