Sketchup Training Providers - Australia
-
Hi all
I am looking into doing some training in sketchup. I am a long time user and would rate my abilities as upper intermediate.
I have done some detailed models for my woodworking hobby and some basic floor plans using sketchup and layout for my work in school facilities management.
We are currently looking at changing the workflow in our office which may mean I am going to get some more modelling time at work.
I need to advance my skills into more advanced modelling, mainly site models, on terrain for visualisation of projects in the early stages with the client schools.
I have found two training providers in Aus...
http://www.procad.com.au/sketchup.htm
and
http://www.designworkshopsydney.com.au/sketchup-courses/
and was wondering if anyone could provide a review or other advice regarding these, or other organisations.
I am based near Sydney but I could travel for the right course.

Peter Skender of ProCad is a real gent.
Met him at many Basecamps and is very much a lover of SketchUp.
Don't know the other business.

Jaguarrh,
As an alternative to Procad who seem to just provide a basics course, sketchuptraining.com.au do a couple of more advanced courses; one that covers Visualisation/rendering with Sketchup and a course for producing technical drawings with Sketchup and Layout.
The courses focus mostly on architecture and building design but they do cover terrain modelling as well as the use of advanced plugins to extend Sketchup's capabilities.
They seem to specialise only in Sketchup unlike the others you mention and if you look at the gallery on the website or follow the link to the Facebook page, they have some very impressive examples.
It says that courses are held once or twice a year in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
Worth a look...
