[Plugin] GKWare Stair Maker
-
Great. So now you need to be able to combine a spiral and straight which is what I need right now--A 180 spiral then straight to the top).
-
Yes Robert - that is the plan.
However, Next will be quarter and half landings.
Then I think I should add posts and balusters.Straight treads combined with curved need the following options.
-
straight treads at top of inside stringer
-
straight treads at bottom of inside stringer
-
straight treads at top of outside stringer
-
straight treads at bottom of outside stringer
Also need to look at notching points - where stair goes from beside a wall and then opens up.

Roland,
Send me your user ID and I will extend your trial.
This is a progressive flare - where the treads at the center get progressively larger.

Just wanted to register my satisfaction with this plugin. I bought it to help me generate a set of half-spiral stairs for a client project.
The plugin itself is well-done and works flawlessly. But what really impressed me is how well Garry K supports it. He has been tremendously helpful in showing me how to generate output from it that it was not specifically designed to do. (in this case a single central steel stringer)
And with every query —and there were several in my case!— his replies were prompt and on-point. Really a pleasure to deal with.
Highly recommended to anyone who needs to resolve a spiral stair conundrum.

Hi Gary -
I'm wondering if you're planning on adding L and U-shaped stair options to this plugin? It would seem a relatively easy thing, especially compared to what you've already created for spiral stairs.
I've been following your progress on Cabinet Maker, so I realize that you've likely not had a lot of time to devote lately to Stair Maker. It would be great if I could (eventually) use it for all the stairs I model — the majority of which are either U-shaped or L-shaped.
Any word for future development for this one?
-
Doug - I do have plans to get back into StairMaker.
L shaped and U shaped stairs are part of my plans (using simple landings). There will probably be additional parameters. I'm also thinking about including a notching point for either side of the stair. Example the top of the stair is between 2 walls and the stair widens after the notching point, possibly changing from housed to sawtooth after the notch.
