Bug Splat - SketchUp STL
-
( SU 2014)
Install plugin : import-export STL from SketchUp Team
Select Component > Modify > Copy (or Cut) = Bug Splat
-
import the STL then save it as a .skp then upload it here.. it doesn't sound as if the actual STL importing is causing a crash.. more like something that came in with the STL.
-
Jeff,
bug splat occurs without importing any files.
just create a small component, select it,
and try to copy it (from the edit menu) -
I reinstalled the STL toolset in v2014 [PC].
I can make edit copy/cut/paste components without problems.Do you have other Plugins installed that could be causing the issue?
I can't see how the STL toolset could be causing this, but some other less kind plugins with observers might. Can you use the SketchUcation Plugins Manager to save the current Set, then disable some 'suspects' [including sketchup-stl.rb], restart SketchUp and retest.
By disabling/enabling plugins and restarting SketchUp you should be able to zoom in on the culprit[s] -
STL doesn't have any observers so it's hard to see how STL would cause bugsplats when it's not in use. I could have understood if it splat when you tried to import as there is a known bug in SketchUp there.
Can you try with just STL installed and no other plugins? Just to check?
Also, have you submitted the BugSplats? Did you enter any info we can use to look it up?
-
Also, can you verify what version of STL you are using?
You profile says you are a Windows, user - correct? -
Hello Guys,
I found the culprit.
is the new version of "Fluidimporter."
