How about updating your profile so it is correct? Update it on the SketchUp forum, too.

Unfortunately the only version hosted here that worked is metric version.
Time to adapt. to. metric. system.
Note that I didn't say to learn: There's nothing to learn about metric system: it's intuitive. Hence why our two-year old could already use it. Try that with the imperial system.
It's really JUST your habit. that. stops. you.@ckizer said:
I'm trying to design a house in the US, so this won't work.
??
How much proof do you need that even. US. houses. can. be. designed. and. built. per. metric system. No offense, just funny.

I downloaded and tried House Builder. Thanks for a great plugin!
In the version I downloaded, the imperial sizes for lumber were not quite correct. In House Builder, 1x was 1/2", likewise, 12x was 11.5". I wish that lumber in the US were that simple. Unfortunately, 1x should be 3/4", 6x is 5 1/2", and anything larger is 3/4" smaller than nominal. I put a simple case statement in the correct spot in the program, and I am now getting the correct US sizes. I am uploading the corrected file as HouseBuilder_extension1.rbz.
Thanks again for a great plugin. I am looking forward to using it often.
Best wishes

Hello,
I am a beginner using Sketchup and trying to design a cottage. I have tried to download House Builder through this forum but it says I need the app to install the plugin. What current plans work with House Builder? I assume the fact I'm using the free web based version is why I can't access this right? Thanks in advance!

Housebuilder is an extension for SketchUp. Since you are using the web-based version of SketchUp and it doesn't have any implementation for extensions, you are correct that you can't use this. You need to be using a desktop version. If this is for hobbyist type use you can use SketchUp 2017 Make. If you are using SketchUp for your work, you need to be using SketchUp 2020 Pro (and if you are sticking with the web version, Shop instead of Free for work use.) You can get the desktop versions from sketchup.com/download/all.

Hi all, returning to sketchup after a 9 year hiatus. Disappointed to see that when I loaded HB, there no longer seems to be window and door framing included. Also, there do not seem to be any free or inexpensive programs that do what HB does? Looking for some help / advice on this.
Thanks in advance...

What Housebuilder extension did you install? I install the one this thread refers to and it has both door and window framing included. This was done just now using that extension.
Although the extension does work in SU2021, it is quite old and no longer being supported. The Medeek extensions for construction, while not free are being supported and have much more capability than Housebuilder.

Is there any chance that we can use centimetes instead of inch>?

Unsigned doesn't mean the extension won't work unless you have permissions set to not allow unsigned extensions to load. The extension works fine in SketchUp 2022 if it is allowed to load. Example from a few moments ago.

Can you help? Most extensions download as RBZ files.
These need installing using the Extensions > Extension Manager.
Its dialog has an Install Extension button on its bottom section...Many older extensions are not signed at all [or they have outdated signatures]... e.g. where their authors are no longer actively supporting them etc...
If you have your Extension Manager dialog's > Loading Policy set to 'Unrestricted' it will be fine...
Provided that you only install extensions' RBZ files from trusted sites like EWH and here [or established authors direct sites], then there is no benefit in restricting yourself to use only 'signed' ones... -
Is this being supported at all?
There seems to be a bug in the Door parameters.
A header height and door height of 80" yields an opening of 80.5". Similarly, an input of 79" yields 79.5". Using different size headers still cause the +1/2" error. -
