      Maybe it would be helpful if you post the SKP file of the man.

        Jim, two suggestions:

        1. print the man laying down, rather than standing up
        2. look at the g-code preview after slicing and before printing to make sure the printer toolpaths look correct. If they don't, you may need to fix the Sketchup file.

        Like Dave says, having the SKP file to look at will enable us to help you better.

            Jim, after looking at your model, I think it should be fine to print the model standing up.

            Using the Solid Inspector plugin, I see some minor holes in the model that may be causing the problem. It may also be that Sketchup is introducing some error in the model when exporting to STL.

            You mentioned using Netfabb Basic to fix the model - there is a more powerful version of Netfabb at cloud.netfabb.com where you upload the STL and it will fix it automatically. Try that and let us know how it goes!

              I tried the netfabb cloud first and got same results. I thought once I found a stl file all I needed to do is slice it to g codes to my reprap. Sure got that wrong. Don't know how I would ever know if the stl file would make a good object.
              I added a picture of what happens but not sure it went. Has anyone ever found problems with a too weak computer causing problems? I just ordered a fast with more memory. Thanks for all the help.

                Just for my own info if I export file out of su and then open it in netfabb doesn't that clean up any problems that su may make on exporting? Thanks

                  I have never had a STL file from Sketchup that cloud.netfabb.com couldn't fix. The basic version doesn't always cut it though.

                    I haven't been successful at printing any yet. There is always something wrong with it after netfabb and using slice3r to convert it to g codes. My biggest problem is my stl parts files that came with my kit works fine. If anyone knows on on sketchup or thingsverse that I can bring to sketchup that is a clean file I could try please let me know so I can try it. Thanks

                      Hi Jim,

                      Does this STL file work for you? I didn't try printing it, but after slicing the gcode preview looks perfect.

                      Side note, his left arm will not print properly without support because it would hang in mid-air.

                        Netfabb will not fix all SU problems but some. I have run cases the solid inspector / solver shows some errors but after running thru netfabb and back through SU they do not report any errors;
                        Check the netfabb WIKI they have some videos that may help and have recommendations on slicers. Showing green does not mean it meets all their criteria ( probably vs the printer they use), when you run the analysis tool does it report all ok? It looks like from your model are you doing 100% in fill, looks like that is needed.
                        Model you posted is reporting to me not solid, soild inspector shows some holes, TIG's solid solver would not fix nor my version of netfabb free.
