First post to this forum and I'm having trouble with the display drivers it keeps locking up during use. Sometimes it's momentary other time it's hours. I'm considering rolling back to XP and a earlier version of SU if I can't find a cause and cure.

Are your display drivers up to date?

          Hi David,

          Welcome to Sketchucation.

I expect folks with Win 8.1 should be along shortly but a couple of common questions are:

What graphics card does your computer have?
As cotty asked, Are your graphics drivers up to date?
Does changing OpenGL settings in SketchUp under Window>Preferences>SOpenGL have any impact?
Do you notice this problem under specific circumstances such as with materials or shadows enabled? Does it happen only with very complex models or even with simple ones?

One way or another we'll help you get it sorted out.

If you do opt to go back to XP, you can still run SU2013 if you want.

auto updated and the systems reports no new or critical updates or drivers. I would have to assume it's good to go.

Control Panel > Device Manager > Display adapters > You_Graphics_Card...
context-menu > Update Driver Software > Search Automatically...

Or try going to the GC's web-site and see if there's a recent update available...

I updated drivers as outlined by Cotty. Computer didn't like the update. I'll try an F8 reboot this evening if that's even an option any more.

This won't fix the problem but it might offer a little consolation.
