I've done hospitals, downtown areas, and college campuses using only Bing Bird's Eye view and Google Earth, but not trying for extreme detail or accuracy. Just enough to keep in practice and improve decision making. Just an idea.

would you like an architectural project (mine)?
Or one of my interests is Native American structures. I want to model some more of this when I ever have time. I would model ruins in Mexico--ones that haven't been overly researched and I would do things like authentic plains indian tipi models. Anything like that or the historical buildings in your area, is surely well worthwhile.

When you've finished with that, scale it flat into an allegorical bas relief to put in the pediment of your historical building

I'm sorry, I overlooked pbacot's suggestion - the hands should belong to a Native American sitting on the roof of a pueblo. If you insist, he can be in Solo's chair which is on top of the pueblo; but at that point people might think you are just showing off.
