    Hi

im new at the forum but have been working with skup for about 6 years,

I have now started to dable into Animation and have been using the keyframe animation plugin.

MY question is if there is a way or a software which would help me work with an easier way towards the modification of objects. By this i mean stretching, subtracting, etc. With keyframe i can rotate scale move etc, but i would like to be able transform from a square into a certain shape showing with frames the process it takes to transform itself formally.

As you can see in this BIG video for example, when from 0:36 0:40 it shows the twist of the rectangle,

i dont know if that should be done in another program or if it can be done in sketchup. Most of the architecture animations i've researched are just "flying" cameras throught out the projects but i'm much more interested in the narration of the process of the architecture. I hope someone can help me resolve this,

    thanks.

Yes you can make all that inside sketchup but you must use Simfonia ! There is a free demo version!
It has even a Physical engine inside! So a cool alternative to "SketchyPhysics"! πŸ˜‰

It's not a very very easy tool but... πŸ˜‰

You can see my several videos about SimFonia (7)(sorry in French but very visual ! πŸ˜„
      (menu Divers/ Simfonia)

          Hello Dtrarch,

First and foremost I would like to thank Pilou for his help. Like a beacon in the darkness, he just highlights a problem with our website.

About your request, ie go beyond conventional keyframe, I do think that SAT is the right tools. In the demonstration package is an example that we realized with Pilou: the weathervane. It is easy but it should give you a good overview of the possibilities of the tools.

Of course we remain at your disposal for further information.

          Best regards,
          SimFonIA team,

For something like this I'd recommend Blender and keyframing of ShapeKeys πŸ‘

              @Rich
Sure the best but you are not more inside sketchup! πŸ˜‰

But SketchUcation is not just about SketchUp but providing answers to 3D problems.

If SU could do everything then there would be no adventure in providing alternative solutions.

Animating vertices is a specialty reserved for outside SU πŸ˜‰
