New version out?
-
Just received this email alert about a new version of SU. But got no notices when I opened SU. Is it accurate?
-
I now have version 8.0.16846 which seems to be the one they are announcing . How does that come ?
-
slowness… ?
Nobody can beat SketchUcation in the latest SketchUp news. cnet's list of features refers also to the major release and not the new (maintenance) version. -
I'm sure you know but perhaps others don't, to check your version go to top toolbar Help/ About sketchup
-
Well this is disappointing. Usually CNET is very good about letting me know when a new version of a program is available. I'm running SU version 8.0.14346, and have been for quite a while, and now it tells me this?

As far as I know [from my ear to the grapevine] they haven't started beta testing a new version yet, so no "new version" release in imminent...

Come on, TIG, you are a beta tester, do not come with this "as far as I know..." You'd be one of the first they'd notify!
(And then you would not be allowed to reveal there is a new beta either)

My SketchUp always tells me when there is any update.

Shhh! Don't say they haven't notified you yet , you know, officially we don't know!

Usually mine does too, but as I mentioned in my original post I received no notifications when I started SU, that's what was confusing me (more than usual)
-
So when I went to check my version I noticed this... 3 Ruby Help links? wth?

Maybe there is an option somewhere to automatically check for updates and you have it turned off?

Oops
Usually that's turned on, I think I might have turned it off after the latest update because I normally wait a while before I install an update to see if it causes any problems and I didn't want to be constantly reminded, then forgot to turn it back on.
Anyhow, I have now updated to the latest version. And turned the notification thingie back on. -
cha ching...

No, that was my laptop, and yes, wifi is not as secure as a hard wired modem and router. This thread concerned only my desktop (haven't used laptop in a while).

Remember the flattery plugin is great for getting the folds right in the tinfoil hat.

Tinfoil hats are sooo yesteryear. You need the Drone Hoodie.

Isn't that just some sort of weird cloaking device designed to hide your klingons.
