In section some of my walls do not fill. Am I building these walls wrong?

      Thanks,

Probably not. Try posting a file and pictures of a good result, and a bad one. Maybe someone will have an idea what's up.

This is in Sketchup then, not Layout. How did you make the section "fill"? with a plugin? The Section tool itself does not create a fill. I am guessing (without a file to look at) that you are seeing some blue back faces in some areas and not in others. It is not necessarily a wrong way in making the walls, but somehow some of your walls are on carpet textured faces and some sit over blue faces.

Try TIG'S "Section cut face" plugin for a section fill. It gives you more control.

Or, if you like the way you are doing it. Intersect the faces under the wall (or whatever it takes to create a separate face there) and make a blue back face.

I would bet that pbacot is right. I think I saw this as a solution for faking filled section cuts some time ago. See picture...

Ron, there seems to be some confusion. Is this a question about using LayOut or SketchUp?

If it is a SketchUp thing I'll move it to SketchUp Discussions.

In SketchUp, when I use section cuts I use TIG's Add Section Cut Face plugin.

Thanks for all the input! I will get TIG's plugin. I think pbacot is right I am seeing the inside of the wall.

Dave, yes, this is a SU issue.

                  thanks,

                  Ron

Yes, you are seeing inside the walls. I thought that was abundantly clear.

I'll move this post to SketchUp Discussions but I would ask you to edit the title since it has nothing to do with LayOut 3. πŸ˜’
