I have tested the last version 2.2.0 and it works fine on Mac OSX 10.8.2 and SU 8.
      Thanks for the effort!! 👍

Hey everybody, just a head's up.

I had just installed the Sefaira Concept Plugin (conceptual energy analysis in SU) on my system, and it completely broke Material Maintenance (both v2.2.0 & v2.1.1. I've tested it on several other machines and got the same result. When I try to load Material Maintenance, the screen and cursor flicker slightly as if it's trying to load, and then never do. It doesn't crash, it just can't load.

        Just fyi,

        Matt

Hmm... this sounds like observers and/or overwritten API methods...

I thought it might be something like it not being encased in its own namespace (I've been reading your blog a lot 😄 ), but 1. it's a .rbs, 2. I don't know enough to be able to diagnose anything like that.

I had occasion to use Material Maintenance again today: I don't know what I was doing wrong before, but got perfect results this time: a real jewel of a plug-in. 👍 Many thanks for all your hard work.

Thanks again for an amazing tool! One little suggestion for the next release if it isn't too much to ask: I'd find an "Invert Selection" for the check boxes to be a very helpful little tweak!

I had first this thread opened over at Sketchup

[Q] Material Maintenance plugin - selecting various components but not the entire model

Seems that the plugin is not further developed past the 2.2 version, but suppose it is highly used and thus would appreciate to be helped with selecting components but not the entire model. Maybe I just have a misconcept…

and there been advised that this plugin is not changing material in component instances but the definition and thus in this setting

                    http://forums.sketchup.com/uploads/default/2412/a55e9cdc24fbe294.png

all component instances are applied even if the instance is not selected. Which is not what I was hoping for - my aim is to change material setting in those 'selected' only.

Wondering whether the author would be interested to develop an such an option, which I believe would be an enhancement to this the great plugin.

seems that things stopped in 2012. Even the forum at the homepage seems abandoned http://www.keepingmyhandin.com/forum.
