      +1. πŸ‘
Have you used thin glass for the diffusor? If so i would try with clear glass (dielectric) maybe with 2% of roughness.

I used the clear glass not the thin for everything. It could be how I constructed it though.

Should the outer diffuser be a solid?

No, I don't think so. That is for the SSS & medium. Maybe just too thin?

A very quick try with Thea: 4 passes 20 m, TR2 supersampling=high, no post pro (just a little bit of radial glare 3% in Thea's dark room). Keeping your model untouched with the exception of the chrome portion on the inner bulb. Still thinking that 1mm of thickness for the diffuser is a bit little. Also maybe it worth a try to model the diffuser with variable thickness. πŸ˜„

At what step did you use Curviloft?

How is the fade? Still needs a bit more cooking of course. πŸ˜„

Can you share the material setup. I've a mapped inner bulb but getting the setup on materials is confusing. Did you texture the inner mesh of the smaller bulb and apply a coating?

I've used a gradient map as a mask. In SU I've textured both faces of the small bulb with it. PM'ed both the textured model and the material. πŸ˜‰

Since someone asked me, here is how the material is made. Quite simple. Rich modeled the bulb with thickness, so the gradient map is applied on both outer & inner face of the model.
Hope you don't mind for the intrusion Rich. πŸ˜„
