      Crazy thing.
I have very little problem with SU! This just started.
I hide a item and a message comes up "do want to save the drawing" , thinking I clicked something by error, I cancel and go to unhide and it's gone, deleted!
      ALL undos are cleared!
The first time it happened I hid a item in a scene, changed to another scene that I KNOW that item was not hidden and voila gone! "All Scene items checked for all scenes!
It happened a couple time and so I thought I hit delete by mistake, was on a hidden layer, ... bla, bla.
Thinking it might be the size of file at first but happened again with smaller file.
Then won't happen again if I try to replicate the excact steps.
      Strange.

Sounds like a plugin misbehaving. Installed any new ones lately?

How are you 'hiding' the object?
          Edit-Menu, Context-Menu, Shortcut-Key, Entity-Info etc... or some other obscure way ??
There should be no message about saving when you do this...
          πŸ˜•

View > Hidden-Geometry ON will show if the object is still around, unless you have moved it onto a Layer that is OFF !
You should rarely need to use Hide/Layer on 'raw geometry' - it will lead to confusion and unexpected results, use Hide/Layers on groups/component-instances and leave you're the raw geometry on Layer0...

            Hole punch was the last.
Twilight update to full version, that's working great.
Come to think of it, it only happened since I have been doing larger renders.
No problem with large renders or large SU file in SU.
"Large by my standards not yours!"

HolePunch is mine and it should never produce anything like this...
Can you explain the exact steps that take you to this weirdness...

Uh! Think it was right click!
Tried that also,Show Hidden shows it's not around!
                Checked for layer on/off but

"You should rarely need to use Hide/Layer on 'raw geometry' - it will lead to confusion and unexpected results, use Hide/Layers on groups/component-instances and leave you're the raw geometry on Layer0"
Noted! Will be more careful now.
                Thanks all for reply!

Well if I recall, I want to hide a element to get to someting else.
I Right click hide, do my work, go to drop down to unhide and message appears.
Or go to scene, any scene, and it's still hidden.
I KNOW it is NOT hidden in that scene, NOT on hidden layer.
Turn ON ALL layers, turn on hidden lines , check Outliner, check components...
It's gone!! What bothers me most is ALL undo are cleared also.
I will pay more attention when it happens again.
Believe me before I post I assume it's me doing something stupid!

Just to be clear this is is not happening all the time and can't duplicate it taking the exact steps, making it difficult to trouble shoot.
                  Thanks again for your help.

Checked to see if auto save is on, it's off!
                    Thought was auto saving conflict.
