Is there a setting to draw the default face (lighter face) up/outward ?

For example : When I draw a simple rectangle at points (0,0,0) (10,10,0)
the back face (darker face) is drawn up, even if drawn from (10,10,0) (0,0,0)

      reverse face.png

      Thanks

Edit #1 - Just trying to eliminate a few steps in the workflow ...
for example: if I draw multiple shapes (rectangle, circle, etc) and
use the 'multi-pushpull' tool with a (positive) number input, it
extrudes downward ... unless I reverse the faces before using
the the tool or remember to input a negative number.
In order to apply materials properly.

Jean, Thanks for your suggestion to edit the style template...
the color doesn't matter that much, as it is a reference to
      front face and back face.

Unless changing the face color also changes the face orientation ?

That's normal behavior. The bottom face is the front face and when you pull the face up to make it 3D, that dark (back) face will be on the inside. There is no setting to change this behavior.

          Hi.

You can orbit to see the model from under before drawing the rectangle.

Then, the face will appears with the outside color.

Anyway, as Dave pointed it, you shall not be concerned about that and, if the default colors are not to your liking, you can change them using the Style Window. Do that in a fresh file and then save as a template so that your new settings will be used every time that you start SketchUp.

          Just ideas.

The order in which you draw a face's vertices affected that face's orientation - UNLESS it's flat on the ground [z=0], then it will always face downwards. This is built into Sketchup as it expects you will want to PushPull such faces upwards. It even the same in code when making faces. It's easy to change just select the face and right-click context-menu 'Reverse' - making a Shortcut key to both the Reverse and Orient tools are highly recommended... [remember to preselect a face before trying to make the Shortcut via Preferences so that the required commands appear in the list - these kind of context-sensitive Shortcuts do not appear in the list otherwise...]
