Exporting SU Images Into Kerkythea
-
Gaieus,
In the Google Forums, you posted this:
Image entities do not make the trip to Kerkythea when you export your model so you will need to explode them first. If you have worked quite a lot to tweak your model in Kerky already (and do not want to restart),
- group all these image entities into one group
- edit the group and explode all the images inside
- export the group only (select it and start the exporter - it will ask if you only want to export selection only)
- save the xml file somewhere
- open your original model in Kerkythea > File > Merge and under the options, for Model select "Add new to current" and for all other options, "Keep current, throw away new".
Steps 2 and 3 seem to contradict each other. Can you please explain further? I think it means to create the group, then explode ONLY the images inside, and then "back out" of the group edit and THEN export that containing group.
Am I reading that right?
Thanks.

Yes, exactly. Sorry if I was unclear. The whole grouping only has two reasons:
- to prevent these images from merging other geometry they might be touching
- to be able to select the thing as a single entity for exporting.
(Note however that I cannot remember this topic there)

Thanks! I'm starting to get the hang of Kerky and would like to continue learning and using it.
Sorry, should have posted the link: http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!category-topic/sketchup/sketchup-pro/KF6YDRTrifY

Hi i am having trouble importing Google Sketchup to Kerkythea.
Now, I have a complicated Google Sketchup model- with imported models from the google bank. I try to import it to Kerkythea but Kerkythea recognises no lights and the screen is black.
(I have tried it with a simple model which i made and it works).
SOS please! Shall i send you the models?
