      Gaieus,

In the Google Forums, you posted this:

Image entities do not make the trip to Kerkythea when you export your model so you will need to explode them first. If you have worked quite a lot to tweak your model in Kerky already (and do not want to restart),

      1. group all these image entities into one group
      2. edit the group and explode all the images inside
      3. export the group only (select it and start the exporter - it will ask if you only want to export selection only)
      4. save the xml file somewhere
      5. open your original model in Kerkythea > File > Merge and under the options, for Model select "Add new to current" and for all other options, "Keep current, throw away new".

Steps 2 and 3 seem to contradict each other. Can you please explain further? I think it means to create the group, then explode ONLY the images inside, and then "back out" of the group edit and THEN export that containing group.

      Am I reading that right?

      Thanks.

Yes, exactly. Sorry if I was unclear. The whole grouping only has two reasons:

        1. to prevent these images from merging other geometry they might be touching
        2. to be able to select the thing as a single entity for exporting.
(Note however that I cannot remember this topic there) 😄

Thanks! I'm starting to get the hang of Kerky and would like to continue learning and using it.

Sorry, should have posted the link: http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!category-topic/sketchup/sketchup-pro/KF6YDRTrifY

Hi i am having trouble importing Google Sketchup to Kerkythea.

Now, I have a complicated Google Sketchup model- with imported models from the google bank. I try to import it to Kerkythea but Kerkythea recognises no lights and the screen is black.

(I have tried it with a simple model which i made and it works).

SOS please! Shall i send you the models?

Try some of this globals http://www.kerkythea.net/joomla/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=42&func=select&id=11 (install it and go to insert globals) if you need lights go to http://www.kerkythea.net/joomla/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=42&func=fileinfo&id=31 and here http://www.kerkythea.net/joomla/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=42&func=fileinfo&id=113
