My First Paid 3D Model
-
This is the mascot/logo for a game company. I can't name it right now as the model is to be used for a video promo yet to be made.
But the exciting part is it's my first professional 3D commission! This is the project that I was looking for help in exporting an .stl file for 3D printing.
The model:
The requested changes. Slight rounder edges and bigger eye.
The finished 3D print yet to be painted:

Hi Bryan, nice mascot. By the way, what kind of 3d printer you have used?
Regards

Well done Bryan

Nice!
Did you make it 'hollow' for a cheaper print?
-
Congrats on your first paid model! Always such a great feeling.

I don't know. This was sent to back to the company and they used another company to make the final object.

Again, I don't know. It was made by a 3rd party company with no specific request for hollow or solid.

Hollow refers to how you modeled it. Here's an example (not Sketchup) from Shapeways: creating hollow objects.
Hollowing saves money on the 3D print because you use less material...just curious if that's how you made your model?

Gotcha.
BTW, isn't it great holding a model you designed in your hands for the first time?

There was no specific request for hollow. The model is very small at just 3". (76mm)
In this case, hollow would have made is structurally weak and too light.

Haven't held it yet. It's still about 1000 miles away. But yes, it's pretty cool seeing something made physical.

Looks great and well done, can we see a painted version?
