Can you import a PDF file.

Like the title says. I want to import a PDF file. It's a plan that I want to work from. I don't need to be able to edit the plan itself just resize it and work from it.
Is it possible.

As Dave said you can get a screenshot/image from the PDF and import that as an Image.
I think MACs impodt PDF files direct - PCs do not.
You can set its size using the Tapemeasure tool with an entered dimension to 'scale' it... -
If you need the accuracy of vector, you could try this .
I'd still recommend that you only use any vector import as reference or to inference off. Innacuracies in imported ACAD files have a habit of stabbing you in the back further down the line. -
Indeed Macs can import pdf's - this is especially useful when the pdf is in vector format (and if Macs can import them as vector - I do not know to be honest).
Alan beat me with that pdf-2-dxf app (I should lso look into it) but still my post may be of some interest...
I use a nifty virtual printer called PDFCreator which (as it says) can "print" anything into pdf - but also into various raster based image formats. Maybe it can create a better image than a simple screenshot (especially from vector based pdf's).

I've also had some luck importing a vector PDF into Adobe Illustrator and from there, exporting to a dxf/dwg. Which I can then import into CAD and take measurements or export to DWG which SketchUp and read.
What a pain in the butt though
But it works!!

Acrobat Pro also saves directly to .jpg, .png or .tif. If it's a vector .pdf, I use Illustrator as well to convert to .dwg.
