What's up with the native 'FollowMe' ?

Gutters are quite fiddly with all the fastening brackets etc, plus I often have to draw different size buildings and

Maybe ProfilBuilder can help for some forms
or 3skeng -
3skeng is windows only, I'll have a look at profile builder.
How are ruby plugins made do you need to be a genius or is it for mere mortals as well?

Profile Builder will save you lots of time.
There is a free evaluation version available here:

Why do you want to model in such detail?
Do you put screws into door-hinges ?Do you realize how complex a Plugin would have to be to do everything you'd want [as oppose to need] to make detailed guttering ?
Tools like ProfileBuilder [now in a free-version too] can help you, but you'll still need to draw a profile and a path, unless you are happy to accept a premade one... It won't do brackets, joints, spigots etc...
Here's the native manual way...
Draw a few common cross-sections of gutter and save them as components, you can then use these in future SKPs as needed, exploding them to an oriented face for a FollowMe around a path.
Make a few [simple] brackets as components too, place instances of these on the gutters and use Move+Ctrl+Nx to array copies along gutter lengths at desired centers etc. This is not a difficult thing to do by hand, but all of the convoluted coding required and the permutations needed to do it 'automatically' in a script would require so many inputs from you it'll be quicker done manually...
