Photomatching problem...

hi,
i´ve seen photomatching tutorials, but when i choose this one, i´m lost.
the lines´re running me crazy
would you someone please identify the best spots for them?

As I understand it, the red lines represent a top reference line and a bottom reference line only in the red direction. The green lines similar but in the green direction. Maybe you can set the green lines along the nosings of the stair in the background?...or the mortar joints running left to right in the image? I know it helps to have a shot that shows more of two faces meeting at a common corner.

i´ve tried once again, this time it looks much better, but i think,it´s not 100% okey.
hope to catch it soon, tomorrow i´ve to start real drawing
i´d be very grateful, if someone will reveal the truth.
i know the shot isn´t as good as should be, but i have just this one.

Unfortunately you don't have good lines in that photo for both the red and green axes. You really need a different view. I think I would use the image as a reference without using it as a Match Photo sort of thing. Or you need to go rephotograph the site.

Alternatively you could adjust the perspective in the photo (using PS or similar) unil you get some good red and green axis lines.

thanks for tips, but i have no other chance to make another shot, have to use this one.

t thought, it won´t be a problem to make an exception in this case.

i know the lines have to be set in difference angle from usual, but where to place them right?

there´are some additional lines with red and green which i didn´t see in videos, i´m sure they´re important.

How about a 4 sided polygon? (it will always be the special "square" case of a rectangle though)

I don't think anything like perfect is achievable with Match Photo. It is what it is. How does your model look in the photo?

What happens when you click on the black right=pointing arrow to the right of "In Model" and click on Purge Unused?

By the way, when you open a new file, how many materials show up in the In Model library? If you have any, purge them. If they won't go away, purge unused components first.

Make Unique Texture ++ is truly amazing plugin, i´m sure it comes handy.

by the way, don´t you remember plugin, which helps you to get rid off textures and materials ,

which aren´t used in the model /see below

well, the photo doesn´t mach exactly, because i got some fixed distances i have to use it for basic construction.

i´ve encountered the same problem as before ( pic on the right side)
is this deformated effect created by an agle of shooting or camera intself, so that i can´t properly put green and red lines?

well, usually i get just 1 shot from someone to make model into it.
i dont have another one, and this is uncropped, only reduced copy.
the original has 6MB.
any idea which side is wrong and how to fix eg.in photoshop?

are you sure these photos are not cropped? I was curious and they looked to me to be different aspect ratios.

Wait, that looks a lot like two photos stuck side by side. Different light etc. Yes it works better if you cut out just the right photo. You should only Match Photo with one shot unchanged as it comes from your camera, without cropping, borders, or distortion.

thanks , but the another photo has nothing to do with it.
i just uploaded them together, so i can use it as texture in SU for another model.
unfortunately, neither of them are cropped.

Something is different with that photo. I can't put my finger on it but it isn't something you're doing wrong with Match Photo. Are you in need of the materials off that thing? If not, I think it would be easier to draw it by hand without the photo.

well, often i use original file, beause they wanted me to do like that
i´ve redraw it, but i´m still waiting for tip how to do successful photomaching with any kind of shot i get.

Just for the heck of it, trim the photo to get rid of the left half. Does that change anything for setting up Photo Match?
