Some nice hints from Elisei:

1.Keep all the diagonals oriented in the same way
2.If you can't go all the way quads then you have to have all the way triangles(at least don't let single quads in the middle of triangles), otherwise the smoothed geometry won't be that nice .

I modelled this using the plugins, "vertex tools" "quad based tools" "Artisan", you can find in more detail how i made this view topic

Will be adding more detail in the coming days and eventually UV map a better texture to the surface
