Does anyone have a tip how to do this offset without the "error" in left corner or whats the reason for this?
      Thank you!

Try Fredo's Tools on Surface Offset Tool

This is a common result with the native tool

Download the free D'oh Book for SketchUp 📖

I remember seeing a plugin that aims to eliminate this issue but for my life I cannot remember which it was. Searching the plugins index did not get any results. Tools on surface (the plugin) has some solutions (simplify contour) but then sometimes introduces other issues.

Native Offset can't compute a suitable outline if there are reentrant or spiky forms - here's a way to fix it afterwards...Capture.PNGFredo's ToolsOnSurfaceOffset is better than the Native tool BUT it's still not perfect - the same fix can be applied to the results from that if it messes up...

Maybe draw the inner shape first, then offset outwards.

              Hi

Well, I can also redraw (and this is the way I usually fix it, too) but certainly an improved offset tool would be great.

Thank you for yur helpful tips! It's a pity that this relatively simple action is not done correctly with the native tool, because it will often confuse beginners...
