Copy + Scale?
-
Is there a way to scale and copy at the same time? Say you have a sphere or box and would like to have one a little smaller on the inside that lines up perfectly with the first one.. can we do that with one command? I tried using scale with the Ctrl button.. I think I confused the program.

There may be a TIG plugin for this (he seems to have it all covered
), but afaik, it's simply a case of doing it manually and then getting the tape measure out (or the scale tool). -
Simple shell will do it.

In addition to the thomthom linked shell tool there's a Jim_Foltz shell tool and of course JointPushPull used inwardly [Xray mode on ?]...

The Ctrl key is a different modification key for the Scale tool. What I do (not using plugins for simpler shapes) is to copy (Ctrl+C) then scale and then paste the original copy in place (Edit menu - but I have a shortcut set up for it: Shift+Ctrl+V since Ctrl+V would be a generic, system level paste command anyway).

Actually Tig, I linked to Jim's one.
This is Thomthom's one http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?t=39308

Thanks folks... I'll give them all a go. I'm a big ctrl c/ctrl v fan

goes to see if she's already got those plugins and didn't know what to do with them -
