IPhone 4S Announced
-
Apple just announced the 4S with a Dual Core A5 processor
iPhone 5 not yet announced but conference is still going
-
4S has 8mp camera and dual antennae to overcome previous issues
-
Meh!
Still same small screen, just a little faster.
Droid phones will continue to dominate the market.
-
Apple shares drop 4% from disappointment of no iPhone5. But it's still not over so they might have a surprise.
-
No iPhone 5 but that SIRI voice recognition system is a game changer
-
... for me the camera. and siri too
-
SIRI is too crazy for me, still... but I'm the last one without a personal smartphone. iphone4s may be the one!

I guess I'm just old, I see my kids that use their iPhones for pretty much everything from an iPod, gaming console, web surfing, facebook, etc.
I use it as a phone, BBC news reader in the bathroom and navigation device when lost.
For internet I have a big ass screen Computer as my fingers are too fat and the screen too damn small to surf on a phone.

That's just like me. And when I misplace it so often, I don't even use it as a phone. I got off the cell internet plan because I have the "edge" version. It is so slow I had to be really trapped and bored to even look up the BBC on it.

I have been waiting with my 3G for months, so i will be pre-ordering the 4S as the 5 is too far into the future.
-
I never upgraded to 4 as it was shit. But this is how 4 should've been.
-
That is very true, I think it could revolutionise the smart phone business.

Sad news just in re: the brilliant mind behind the Apple juggernaut....
Steve Jobs lost his fight with Cancer, aged 56.
I'm not an Apple nut like some [do have an iphone & ipad though...] but he was one of the great minds of our time....
-
He set a very high standard and forced the market to try keep up, for that I'm thankful.
-
too right, Pete.
-
I find it - kind of - thought provoking that he dies on the day following the launch of iPhone 4S...
As if he was determined to stay alive and see the launch, but then "giving up" now that the news had been released and the reviews were so disappointed that we did not get an iPhone 5 this time...
May he RIP...! -
Indeed, he worked so hard to take his company to the market leader, and considering the headstart PCs had.
Oh and I pre-ordered my phone today.

I read it somewhere but it does sum up the problem of the iPhone "4s" moniker. The phone is faster, can have more memory, has a better camera, has Siri, Bluetooth 4, full HD video recording, CDMA tri-band, EV-DO and better battery life. The only thing missing is a bigger screen and a slimmer design. Really, with all these improvements if they called it a "5" would people still complain?
