I'm a curve master here and I must say I don't really understand what you mean?

        is this what you mean?

        is this what you mean?

there are lots of curve tools to help you here.

        1. extrusion tools
        2. BZ Tool Bar
        3. Draw a Taper
        4. Curve Stitcher
        5. Curve Shearing
        6. Curve Maker
        7. Shape Bender
        8. Create Loft
        9. Fredo Scale
        10. ? I'm sure there are more...

search for these on the forum and you'll find places to download them and tutorials on how to use them. I would trade my pinky finger for many of them.

My apologies for not explaing very well. I would like to produce a model bus similar to the one below. The curves at the rear of the bus are what I need help with. The bus needs to have walls approx 1mm thick in order to be printed on 3d printer. The curves are of different radii. On the example below some of the curves are not very well curved.

I think Joint Push/Pull and/or Jim's simple shell would do what you want.

                Hi folks.

Before embarking in the use of plugins, I suggest that you view all the video tutorials and read the help about using the basic tools, especially the articles about the Arc tool, the Push/Pull tool and the Follow me tool.

You will see that you can create 3D curves quite easily with these.

Once you have mastered some technique with these, try the Sandbox Tools to discover more possibilities.

Combining the Push/Pull Tool with the Scale Tool can produce curved surfaces. Stitching between arcs with straight edges can also produce curves. Creating a circular array of an object can create a curved face.

                Read the help about smoothing/softening.

After that, try some of the previously mentionned plugins.

                Just ideas.

Jean (Johnny) Lemire from Repentigny, Quebec, Canada.

Try Fredo's RoundCorners... OR try doing it manually like this...RoundedCorners.PNGRoundedCorners.skp Worry about making the 'shell' after making the surface...

Thankyou for your suggestions. I have previously got as far as TIG's solid example, but creating a thin shell is what I've been unable to do.

                      Maybe this one:

a simpler solution than the more robust JointPushPull:
