Bended roof, how?
-
hello,
I m stuck on the design of a paper board roof that is supposed to be slightly bended into a HP plane. so all the sides are straight but since they are not parallel the plane in between is bend. So what i need to do is pretty much taking a group (which is the roof divided in vertical paper structures) and move the edges of the roof into a non parallel plane.HOW????
I tried it with shape bender but it bends the edges aswell. any one an idea? a plugin? help
best regards, joscha

ExtrudeEdgesByRails ? where you make the four sides as divided edges > curves [use weld etc]...
-
Boy,...you can't get a quicker and better answer than that.

nice, thanks! can u also take a complete group because i already have the 80cm thick structure of the roof that is divided into a coffered ceiling. so can u take the group and bended onto that plane?
-
The resultant mesh is a group.
You need JointPushPull to add thickness to it...
If it's to be coffered then perhaps EEbyLattice could do it for you in one step... -
puh finnaly got it thanks:) took me a while.
but how can i make the coffered ceiling with a XXXXX structure? right now its all /////
u know what i mean? -
tiger at computer. thx for all your plugins .

We are good but your cryptic clues are not clear.
Can you attach images [or SKPs] of what you get and what you want ?
It might be that you actually need to do some work making this form and that plugins will only help you a certain distance along the road.
With a little more detail I sure we can advise you how to do this...
