      Hi,

I remeber that I have seen a topic(like a tutorial) about how to create trees or humans in Photoshop as .png files and then make them transparency in Vray? I can't find it now?

My background is still visible when I render a tree despite that I have a black image shape of the tree in the transparency slot!? And I can't get the image to be transparency in sketchup?! Should it be imported as texture or image?

      Preciate som help! Thanks!

That sounds about right. Dunno whats not working right. Can you post sample model and the textures you use?

Btw, since VfSU 1.48.xx you can use PNG files, just enable the "Use color texture for transparency" under the transparency slot.

          Hi!

I'm not getting a correct shadow from the transparency texture!? This is how I do, please tell me if something is wrong.

In Photoshop CS4 I create two images. The first i the image with all white areas gone, so it is transparent. I save it.

Next I make a copy of the image an fill black to all areas on the image that I want to be visible, the rest is filled with white color. Both images are saved as .png files.

In Sketchup I import the main image as an texture and put it on a surface, but perhaps this is why I get a complete shadow from the surface of the geometry?! I also tried to import as image and let it stand alone in the scene, but this also created a "box" looking shadow!?

In vray the alpha channel image is placed in the tranparency slot as a texbitmap. It all look good in the preview dispite if "Use color texture for transparency" is enabled or not!

          What is made wrong? Thanks!

Still sounds good. Can you post a model please?
What file format do you use?
