Most impressive SketchUp modelling
-
Wow, wow, wow. I may not necessarely agree with CoreMaster, but 'violent', 'clear intention to be destructive'? Let's not overreact here. This is a forum, there's bound to be disagreement.

... what im trying to say is that you could find thousands of models from warehouse that are more impressive then some of the models here.
Instead of arguing if posted images are good enough, please post one or two of those warehouse model images YOU are impressed by.
To all, now try to get this thread back on track. -
Ok whatever I lost. I dont want to argue anymore. and I'll STFU!
@simon le bon
why did u but these pictures of my models here??? these were not meant to be impressive... and they are for a game. -
There are 'no' losers in an honest debate. I think your comment was taken personally because we all know the personality behind each 'impressive' submission. And for some it's personality that is sometimes more impressive.
Your comment was correct just not in the right context at the right moment unfortunately.

First that "to plugin or not to plugin" thing, then this debate which is leading nowhere and is dangerously close to insulting IMHO... And now it would be the right time to chill out and to get back on track. It´s spoiling all the fun of enjoying some great work.
Not to mention it´s Saturday. Hope you all have a great weekend! -
Getting back on track, here are the models of COSEDIMARCO.
He's a member here though he hasn't been active in a long time.

I dont want to be rude but some of these works are not... so impressive tho im not going to point out the ones that I have in my mind.
I wasn't only looking the render itself but also the model.
As the name of this topic is "MOST impressive sketchup modelling" then I realy hope to see MOST impressive modelling.I dont say that some of the models are not impressive because they are simple nor am I trying to say that they are bad, but what im trying to say is that you could find thousands of models from warehouse that are more impressive then some of the models here.
If these models can't impress me than how can they impress people who use 3ds, maya etc???Coremaster models: -> -> pictures removed(by myself)
@stinkie
my words are rude yes. But please read under the lines and look how Dave had been touched.... Despite there where no personal attack.*s
PS: @pixero +1: that's what I was meaning
-
Sorry Pixero,
I come after the war and I have some things to say.First that I reprobate firmly the violent approach of CoreMaster110. What he had done here is not constructive criticism but he had come with the clear intention to be destructive. Can he shows us something of his job so impressive that we are going to acclaim?
Secondly we know that a very pure and may be simple shape can be very hard to achieve. May be very much more than a vast complex model only made with thousands of pushpull acts. So before make a quick judge, first try to imitate
Thirdly, men that can and must be criticized are those who had posted the works which had hold their admiration. In any cases the authors who do their job with all their heart, skill, talent and generosity are to be not denied ..
As I have chosen to post a lot of the last reports, CoreMaster110 if you have something to add come one, come to me by PM and stop bumping this nice thread.
simon.

Roger's Bell and Howell D70 Camera is pretty cool.

Found a couple of great Sketchup users on Deviant Art,

Mods, any chance of making this thread a sticky? It took me a while to find it again- even under my bookmarks!
-
I've made it a sticky for now.
-
How about we have a thread that only mods can add to and post on but everyone could view. We could put up the most impressive models found around here along with a link to each corresponding thread. We could have a separate discussion thread open to everyone so they can nominate people's works etc. It would just be nice to have a real "Gallery" of the greatest SketchUp works.
It's kind of elaborate I guess but I don't think it would be too hard to implement, right?
-
That has been covered before but Mods are a notoriously lazy bunch. I wouldn't bother asking them.
We have recently grown the Gallery forum to add a WIP forum to accomodate the feedback we got on the Gallery becoming cluttered. Adding a Mod only locked topic kind of takes away the community spirit of the place. By having members recommending members it remains a true representation of what SCF thinks of the submissions on show.
Whilst it does seem to have simmered down lately it is a great place to visit to get inspiration/motivation and mostly depression.
But you never know you may get your wish someday......
-
Shut up Rich! I want my own thread, hell my own sub-forum. And who you callin' lazy?!
Where's the remote? Damn, I spilled my cheese!

Anything by this guy;
http://www.giantmonster.tv/giant/
Specifically;
http://www.giantmonster.tv/giant/?page_id=612These images are produced mostly in sketchup. He used to have a great wealth of info regarding this project on his blog, including tuts, workflows, etc. But as time went on it has moved to the back burner and the amount of info has decreased, but I still find it very inspirational.
He also used to have some videos on youtube showing his sketchup workflow. I forget what they were called but they're a good watch.

He's Justin Chin and a member here:
http://forums.sketchucation.com/memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=1565You can search under the advanced search for his topics in the gallery (search for him as author and the topics he started - i.e. "first post..." in the gallery)
