Anyway, one of the most impressive models for me is ELY's Buick GSX
Shame about the watermarks. They spoil the view.

A real gallery would be awesome, something that could be easy to link to and easy to view. I'm also very tired of hearing sh*t about SU and want to have something handy and user friendly to point to and shut the beeeep...ers up.
The last time somebody attacked SU I nearly burst a blood vessel.

try to switch to a proper 3d software. Google sketchup it's a joke 3d software, a wannabe software. So get serious man
I replied with a somewhat lengthy message but the gist of it was:

Oh and while I'm on it...why do always 3ds maxers , maya users etc feel so threatened by this app that they need to hijack a thread?
While I do enjoy interesting discussions it gets irritating to be criticised for the software I use instead of the modelling mistakes the bad rendering and the design of the car, ship, house, etc.
Anyway, one of the most impressive models for me is ELY's Buick GSX

Sorry about that, he did have the same pics on SCF but needed a bit of digging.
I've changed the links, take another look. And also his Nissan is pretty impressive. Definitely shows that SU is not as backward as some think.

These are all great, any chance you could post more straight from Sketchup? I'd get more of an idea about how to go about creating more realistic stuff then.
Are there any decent free rendering plugins? -

+1 (But maybe an Only SketchUp without plugins)

@artysmedia
Once for rare, I don't agree with you Roberto. External Plugins are called to be inherent by philosophy to SketchUp System . Without them Su is far less powerful. Imagine Su without bezier curves@silver_shadow said:

I have read that somewhere that Su development team was waiting for the invaluable contribution of the external ruby developers, as they was concentrating more specifically on the engine..(something like that)

What would it prove? Masochistic traits or extraordinary craftsmanship? I guess itยดs even possible to manually "subdivide and smooth", but at what cost?

Guys, guys...dont hijack this thread.
It's for showing "the world" what can be done with SketchUp as a modelling tool.
Images can be shown as renders but the focus for this thread is about great/exellent/superb modelling.
The best of the best! ...not just great.
If someone wants to make a new thread about modelling without plugins thats fine, but this thread allows plugins. -
+1
I'll split the topic when/if it continues. It is a debate worth having, but not here.
