      Hi!

When I render a facade I get areas with dark spots! What is causing this and where can I increase och decrease some value to get a perfect surface on the facade?

Another question that hope to get some clarity, is when I import components from another Sketchup file, they are often invisble when rendering! I have tested a lot of different method to get them visible, like explode, ungroup, reverse faces, make new components. But There must be some simple rule that I have missed?! Should all object be components? This components that is often done in 3ds max and then imported like a 3ds file to Sketchup. Preciate some tips so that object don't get invisible when render. Thanks!

Can you please post an example?

I'm guessing you are using one of the older VfSU versions? They had some problems where groups/components would not render until you reloaded the model. (though I thought it was groups only...)
Exactly what VfSU version do you have?

Looks like you are using Irradiance Map - correct?
In which I'd start by increasing the HSph.subdiv.
(what is you max / min rate btw? and resolution you render in?)

And you experience components not rendering?
Do you have a sample model?

Yes, it's irradiance map. I increased the HSph.subdiv from 30 to 100, but the result was the same. Should I increase more?

Do you mean the basic parameters? Min Rate -3 Max Rate -1. Resolution 1280 x 960.

Is it better to use Photon map instead of Irradiance? I need to learn more about this, where could I learn more? Any good books or tutorials?

              Thanks!

hmm... no improvement at all...? maybe increase samples a little? to 30 perhaps? (I'm guessing here)

Or - try setting Max from -1 to 0...

hm... I think Photonmap is intended as secondary...

Hmm....this was complicated! I have tested all kinds of values and I'm a little bit confused about the min and max rate? Will a min max value of -3 0 produce a better image, then with a min max value of -2 0 ?

It looks like if I increase sample, the facade don't get crispy and sharp, correct?

I still have problems with the spots.
