Sketchup 8 experience problem

hello guys, need some help here. my sketchup has been acting weird when i attempt to open a new sketchup file with sketchup 8. I tried opening just a plain file as well but it turned out the same way. The problem is that the sketchup program only shows the top and bottom menu but nothing in between except for my previously open windows. Here is a screen shot of what I am trying to describe:
Please advise how can i fix this as it's a little urgent for me to finish up some works at the moment, thank you!

Did you somehow install SU8 in the wrong folder? Perhaps in SU7 folder?
Why the OS is not allowing a complete start is beyond me, unless you scrambled the registry or something?

My money is on a graphic card issue.
If you disabled Hardware Acceleration in SU, do you get the viewport then?
If so - then it is a graphic card issue and you should update your drivers.Btw, what graphic card do you got?

I responded only to keep this thread afloat, as I am not qualified or experienced in the hardware/software/operating system interoperational jungle.
I was really hoping someone could see this and help. -

I have noticed that aside from you and a couple of others, there are very few troubleshooters in this specific area of interoperability. -
Unusually the first thing to test is the graphic card - as it's the cause in 90% + of the cases.
