Resizing bounding box

I know this must have been asked before, but I had no luck with the search engine. How do you resize a bounding box if you've resized a component. I'm using cutlist and it throws it completly off as it measures the box, not the componenet.

Hi Otis,
Did you resize the component "from inside" (editing its parts)? If so, you may have done it leaving the component axes where the were. T get the bounding box neatly and tightly align with the component, right click on the component and "Change axes" - now position them aligning them to the component's geometry.
If this is not the issue, could you upload the component? (There may even be some hidden geometry in there etc.)

If you have scaled a component instance and all instances have changed then you can use right-click context-menu 'Scale Definition***'.
If only one component instance is different from some others - you should first use 'Make Unique' on it then use 'Scale Definition'.
***Your cut list seems to be reporting the component-definition's bounds NOT the component-instance's bounds - which will vary if the component-instance is scaled... You could also change what it's reporting if that is the case.... -
Thanks for the tips. I actually exploded the component and re-made it as a component which seems to have worked.

Exploding the component may have other disadvantages showing up later. Like inheriting material and layers by lower levels.
Why not follow Tig's advice? 'Make Unique' will instantly give you that new component. -
p.s. After 'Make Unique' you still need to right click and select 'Scale Definition' to alter the scaled definition to the future UN-scaled definition.

As is typical, I studied up on what was said and had no luck. I can right click and chose change axis and move it up to the component, but the old axis is still there with the new axis as is the out of bounds bounding box.I reviewed everything but I'm not getting it. Also the term hidden geometry was used. I hear that all the time but I'm not sure what it means. I usually scale the component using the Fredoscale plugin, but not always.

If you right click on a component and "Change axes", you will modify the component axes only - the world axes will remain in their original position.
Right click (carefully) on any of the three world axes to place them elsewhere (if I correctly understand your problem).
Hidden geometry is under the View menu. It will reveal any hidden edges and faces as well as softened/smooth edges (like those of a cylinder or sphere for instance). This can be handy if you want to position some texture on them as you cannot access the position texture tools on curved surfaces but you can on the revealed facets when HG is on.
