The latter is true but I have had so much uni work on and other projects hardly been able to do anything fun-wise with sketchup. Hopefully this christmas break will let me do some new stuff fingers crossed?
Car looks great anyway, im not a fan of the default tyre material in thea either its not very good is it, love the blue paint now with the map and reflections on!

Thea Clay Render
Line Overlay
FotoSketcher (DaveR setting)
Will I ever get to finish this?
-
Hey! That's really cool. How come you get better work out of it than I do?
-
Well, you have already made it to "Most impressive SketchUp modelling". Rightly.
And it just keeps looking better and better! A kind of work I like the most ( with all due respect to "organic" stuff ) -
Too white
-
Maybe a slightly dark white would be good.
It looks great to me but I'd like to see the car in a blue instead of black. And I think you need a little fill light on the tires (or just make them a dark gray instead of black).
what are those two marks above the light on the left side of the picture.
And now guess who is depressed.
-
Those floating anomalies are rivets that I was playing in SU but forgot them. Nice spot!
The tyre material is Thea default rubber. Need to play more with it. Suggestions welcome.
The seat are shit at the moment but I've no time to play these. To busy planning world domination.
Thanks for feedback
-
I was hoping the seat is a stand in. I hope someone who knows Thea will chime in about the rubber. I think of it from a purely photographic perspective. If I was losing the tires off the bottom of the range of the film, I would get some light in on them somehow. The side walls need something, too. Maybe some ribs running round the tire. How about whitewalls.

I've had time to play today and bye bye went alot of parts. Just the Cockpit, Seats and underfloor to complete. I have found some nice engine images and I actually might model it. Current at 15mb in size without textures (45mb with )
All the dials are custom made in Illustrator along with the Steering wheel texture.
An texture test in Thea of the cockpit....emitter fail

Its coming along well Rich
-
Thanks gents.
-
Very well
Glad to see youΒ΄re keeping this project alive. Terrific job on those textures also.
Oh, and donΒ΄t forget to raise the hood please when youΒ΄re done with the engine. -
Nice Rich.
-
Beauty model, Rich! The renders help highlight the great modeling. Perhaps needs some detail where the spokes hit the rims.
-
Beautiful model! Of course, nobody would expect anything less from you! Glad to see someone else turning out the oldies (although it's a bit older than what I'm into )
-
Thanks, I plan on remodelling the wheels at some point. It's one of those 'never quite content' models.
High praise from the grandmaster of car modelling. In fact it was your Eldorado that made me revisit this and tweak the details. Don't get much time for playing with this though.

Wow!!
Ummmm...is there a salary that goes with this? Maybe a crown that I can put on Ebay? (I'm poor, I eat dirt and twigs - when I can afford the twigs )
-
Some play time today while internet was broken....
...every time I open this model I destroy something and start again. Gonna finish this for Xmas so I can bury the thread
