SCF Youtube video link maker

Here's a very simple bookmarklet that will pop-up a link to a Youtube video formatted for this forum.

Update: Easy install here.

In Firefox, create a new Bookmark, right-click it and select Properties.

Copy this following code and paste it into the Location field of the Bookmark.

Press Save. Then, go to Youtube, find a video and press the bookmarklet.

Copy the text, and paste into your post on SCF.

This is quite rudimentary, but could be improved quite a bit if someone were interested.

Now detects if a video is not embed-able.

Anytime i want to upload a video here i end up search for Simon's tutorial and then fudging around till i get it right so this reduces to workload on my depleted braincell count

It appears to work in IE 8.

Edit - The pop-up workd, but I am not able to select the link as I can in FF.

Sure. I just can never remember how to do it either!

I figure I just quadrupled the number of videos that get posted.

I'm not sure about all the Youtube magic url's or forum tricks, so if the pop-up could be better, let me know and I'll modify it.

So I changed this to use a pop-up window, which should be more compatible but you may need to change your pop-up blocker settings.

Forgive my complete ineptness at this but I just dragged the "button" onto my google toolbar and then went to youtube and picked a random video. Hit your "button - SCFtube" and nothing happened. What am I doing wrong - rest assured it is me!!
