ExtrudeEdgesbyRailsbyFace Study

WOW! thats a lot to grasp. maybe you could study TIGs other extrude tools too. it would be nice to know how they all work
-
So Simon before TIG answer put all in the positive X Y Z quadran

Ah! Great -- this is the thing that is needed! Raw material for a manual...
Best,

Family illness miles away from home means I can't pay full attention right now...
However, the profile-face's orientation [as explained in the notes] is taken from its 'flat' Y/green axis which is taken as Z/vertical when it's copied and 'transposed' onto the end of a rail.
The face is also 'transformed' onto the nearest end of any rail curve.
Perhaps using one face and one rail will give you simpler examples - use EEbyFace... This is 'method' used in EEbyRailsByFace so the results should be the same - the more complex EEbyRailsByFace assumes you understand the basic rules applying to EEbyFace...
Also the built-in FollowMe that's used can 'twist' the profile, so you need to factor that in...
That might explain why the face isn't at the slope' angle but perpendicular to the first segment in the rail's curve ?

Now I am sure any more of nothing but:

thank you xrok1, Pilou, Jason.

Rectification: I'm wrong about these "expected" 30°. Measuring isn't done the good way.@unknownuser said:

@ Simon

use EEbyFace...
A good idea. This shows me I was wrong to think until now that profiles and rails was treated differentlyPlaytime: Cubic chocolate cage
